Common Questions About Metal Roofing

The Most Efficient Roofing Material

By lakes, under trees, windy hill tops and in humid climates metal proves to be the best. Metal roofs are resistant to stains and other microorganisms.

What About Maintenance & Cleaning?

Steel roofs, with their inherent smoothness, practically clean themselves. Leaves, needles and moss accumulate on other roofing systems unsightly and will shorten the life of most roofs. You can also walk on a metal roof without damaging it. However, since a metal roof requires virtually no maintenance, there should be no reason to do so.

Are Metal Roofs Noisy?

Contrary to popular belief, metal roofs aren’t noisy when it rains. The substrate combined with the building’s insulation provides solid backing for the metal and insulation for sound dampening. The sound will remain basically the same with a metal roof system.

How Good is the Paint?

24 gauge steel is .023 thick, pole barn steel is either (29ga .013) or (30ga .012). The metal we use is the thickest and has the best paint job you can find with a Kynar finish.
